Vinh Tan 2 Thermal Power Plant is an investment by Electricity Vietnam and is managed by Power Generation Corporation 3 (EVNGENCO 3). Total investment capital is nearly 23,500 billion VND. This includes two units, where each unit has a capacity of 622MW. The Vinh Tan 2 thermal power station plays an important role in the power supply to the South of Vietnam.
Challenge
  • The method of data management is ineffective and manual, it is difficult to check and make decisions based on the recorded data.
  • Data transmission to the corporation cannot be done in a convenient way with the current manual process of gathering and collating data.
  • It takes a lot of time to process and combine the data in order to make the right calculations.
  • When errors occur, finding the solution based on historical data is still difficult because the search and accuracy of the numbers are not high.
  • Creating reliable, transparent reporting for recorded data is a problem in the power generation sector, with no obvious explanations at hand.
Solution
  • The process of creating and inputting data is simple and displayed on the same overview screen.
  • All returned data are stored systematically, conveniently searched and retrieved with just the selected filters of conditions applied, whichever are useful.
  • Data is processed and represented in many forms (tables, bar charts, line charts, …).
  • Share data based on the transmission of TXT files.
  • Reporting templates are pre-set based on regulations as given by the government and on the frequency of actual use.
  • The automatic monitoring system has the results displayed on the electronic board, and is based on the corresponding data as recorded by the software.
Benefits
  • The data transmission method provides high security, saves time and resources and ensures the accuracy of the transmitted data.
  • Make quick reports with the available data from all automatic monitoring stations.
  • Track online and receive timely data alerts anytime, anywhere via mobile devices.
  • The public display of parameter values on the electronic board at the gate of the plant is used as an expression of the desire to become increasingly transparent in electricity production, helping people feel secure, and at the same time for management agencies. making easy to monitor and handle in case of an environmental problem.
