Nghi Son 2 Thermal Power Plant has a designed capacity of 1,330 MW, with an actual capacity of 1,200 MW (600 MW per unit), producing 7.8 billion kWh per year, providing electricity to over 6 million households. The project was commenced in July 2018 by Doosan Vietnam as the main contractor. After 4 years of construction, the plant was completed on schedule, with Unit 1 commencing commercial operation in January 2022, and the remaining unit starting commercial operation at the end of July 2022.
