Tan Hiep water processing plant

December 4, 2023

Monitoring the environmental parameters in our living environment is very important and has an extreme urgency in developing countries such as ours. The trend of environmentally friendly production can also be seen within the various stages of water treatment. Another activity on which the water sector is focused is on improving the availability of water quality monitoring, its evaluation and the related warning systems. More specifically, the water supply industry has placed continuous water quality measurement systems (also available online) at the location of unfiltered water extraction, monitoring the quality of clean water at factories; in particular before dispersion, and have them equipped with additional, modern, water quality analysis equipment.

The Tan Hiep water processing plant currently operates with a capacity of 250,000 m3/day, providing clean water to millions of people in various districts of Ho Chi Minh City. The factory applies advanced technology, and is equipped with machinery and main technology equipment imported from American, German and Japanese manufacturers. With completely new automation production technology, the Tan Hiep Water plant also welcomes many domestic and foreign visitors every year to the factory to exchange knowledge and share experiences.

Installation of a wastewater monitoring data surveillance system

Because it extracts unfiltered water from the Saigon river, the Tan Hiep Water plant always closely monitors the most important water quality indicators, and installs monitoring systems to promptly update and notify about possible fluctuations in the values. Currently, the plant has installed a water quality monitoring system, which includes:

  • 12 points of clean water quality measurement (Turbidity, pH, Residual chlorine);
  • 01 wastewater monitoring station (COD, TSS, pH, Open Channel Flow)

Solving the optimization problem of monitoring station surveillance processes

  • All data is collected automatically and updated continuously.
  • Monitoring with sound and color alerts makes it easier for users to identify problems and gives users a sense of security.
  • The integration of cameras at the water plant also helps to adjust the daily operations, by monitoring the actual situation.
  • The software will perform automatic calculations based on the collected data and output that into the report templates, which are available as Excel files.
  • Account decentralization allows admins to create accounts for control and management in different roles within the organization of the plant.
