Ha Noi Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DONRE) is a state agency responsible for implementing the state management functions on natural resources and environment in the territory of Hanoi city. The Department was established according to Decree No. 123/2013/ND-CP dated November 7, 2013, by the Government.
Functions and Duties of DONRE of Ha Noi
- State management on water resources, minerals, marine and island resources.
- State management on environmental protection.
- State management on land, geodesy.
- State management on surveying and mapping.
- Terrain mapping, thematic mapping.
- State management on meteorology and hydrology.
- Inspection of natural resources and environment;
- Implementation of other tasks assigned by the City People's Committee.
Hanoi has achieved numerous accomplishments in the management of natural resources and environment, contributing to environmental protection and socio-economic development of the city. The quality of the environment has been improved, environmental pollution has been controlled, and forest coverage ratio has increased. Hanoi has been recognized as an ASEAN Environmentally Sustainable City in 2022.
