In Bac Ninh province, environmental protection is identified as a top priority, permeating the issuance of strategies and investment-attracting policies. Following the principle of implementing planning and constructing industrial parks comprehensively, from essential infrastructure to environmental protection requirements such as the monitoring system for waste and wastewater, environmental protection activities in industrial parks are required to be executed meticulously from the moment businesses are licensed to operate. Among them, Yen Phong 2C IP is oriented towards development in tandem with environmental protection.
Overview of Yen Phong 2C Industrial Park
Yen Phong IIC (2C) IPis part of the overall planning of the Yen Phong II industrial zone, with a planned area of about 219.22 hectares. With the goal of helping Bac Ninh province become a centrally-run city, the Prime Minister approved Yen Phong 2C in 2007 to build a comprehensive and large-scale industrial park, urban area, and services. The groundbreaking ceremony for the industrial park was organized by Viglacera in 2019.
Known as one of the first concentrated industrial park developers in Vietnam, Viglacera, with over 20 years of experience, has invested in and operated 11 industrial parks in Vietnam and 1 economic zone in Cuba (ViMariel). Viglacera's industrial parks are located in 6 northern and central provinces of Vietnam, providing diverse options for investors. Additionally, Viglacera prioritizes the deployment and allocates hundreds of billions of VND to build wastewater treatment plants to complete a synchronized, modern infrastructure ready to accommodate businesses and construct factories.
Yen Phong 2C Industrial Park is strategically located with convenient transportation connections for the flow of goods to neighboring areas and domestically. It has main road connections to the road network and railways, including National Highway 18, the Hanoi–Thai Nguyen expressway, and the Hanoi–Lao Cai railway. With this location, the transportation of goods is easier, faster, and cost-effective. At the same time, it minimizes transportation costs.
Focus on Wastewater Monitoring Management in Industrial Park
The wastewater treatment system in Yen Phong 2C Industrial Park is processed by a centralized wastewater treatment system with a total processing capacity of 17,000 m3/day-night. The processing capacity in phase 1 is 7,000 m3/day-night.
To control incidents regarding the wastewater treatment system, the industrial park always strives to comply with design requirements, strictly adhere to operational requirements, and effectively perform continuous monitoring of the wastewater monitoring system. Incidents will be detected through automatic monitoring and analysis in the wastewater quality laboratory and daily operation checks of the wastewater treatment plant and other related components.
The industrial park has installed an automatic continuous monitoring system for treated wastewater with parameters such as flow rate, pH, TSS, COD, Ammonia, temperature, and surveillance cameras at the flow measurement station to control the quality of the discharged wastewater with continuous monitoring 24/7. Additionally, every 3 months, the industrial park conducts monitoring of the treated wastewater system's outlet and the receiving water source. When a discrepancy in the quality of the discharged wastewater is detected, timely corrective measures are taken.

In its development strategy to become a modern industrial province, Bac Ninh province always places importance on environmental protection. Therefore, from the planning stage, the province has directed the development of industrial parks to be closely associated with environmental factors, considering it a crucial criterion for determining harmonious and sustainable development.
Among the large-scale industrial parks, Yen Phong 2C is always of interest to the province, emphasizing the installation of a monitoring system and automatic environmental monitoring to regularly and continuously monitor the quality of wastewater before being discharged into the environment. The Bac Ninh Department of Natural Resources and Environment closely monitors the indices and environmental quality of wastewater discharged from the industrial park.
To reinforce waste management and environmental protection efforts, the industrial park has partnered with iLotusLand to deploy and install Monitoring Data Management Software to monitor, evaluate, and manage the quality of discharged wastewater in accordance with legal regulations. These efforts not only help minimize negative impacts on the environment but also contribute to building a sustainable future for both the industrial park and the surrounding community. Through the measurement process, analysis of parameters such as Ammonia, COD, Flow rate, TSS, pH, Temp, the system allows the industrial park to conveniently and accurately monitor, manage, and report monitoring data. These indices will be continuously transmitted directly to the software to detect and address potential wastewater issues, changes in the environment that may affect the quality of life in the vicinity.
