Campha Thermal Power Joint Stock Company has implemented and integrated Internet of Things (IoT) technology using the iLotusLand emission monitoring software to enhance the management and monitoring capabilities of emission data. This initiative aims to create an intelligent and efficient production environment.
Campha Thermal Power Joint Stock Company
The Cẩm Phả Thermal Power Plant has a total capacity of up to 600 MW, with an annual electricity output of 3.68 billion kWh. It is equipped with 2 generating units and 4 boilers utilizing Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) technology for coal combustion. The plant uses seawater for cooling during the electricity generation process. The electrostatic precipitator and limestone combustion method, combined with coal, help control emissions. The circulating water channel system is designed to minimize adverse effects on the aquatic ecosystem and water quality in Bai Tu Long Bay.
The issuance of a new license for the Cẩm Phả Thermal Power Plant imposes stringent requirements on environmental management. The company is obligated to collect and treat generated wastewater, ensuring compliance with pollution limits. Discharging untreated wastewater into the environment is strictly prohibited. Furthermore, the license emphasizes the importance of avoiding adverse impacts on the aquatic ecosystem and water quality in Bai Tu Long Bay. It requires Cẩm Phả Thermal Power Company - Vinacomin to implement an automatic, continuous emission monitoring system (accompanied by surveillance cameras) in accordance with legal regulations. The environmental license is valid for 7 years, until November 2030, during which the company is responsible for pollution, noise, and vibration not meeting permissible standards.
Current status
To ensure sustainable and environmentally friendly operations of the Cẩm Phả Thermal Power Plant, the deployment of a modern monitoring system and the use of monitoring management software are crucial. This system serves not only as a tool for accurate environmental parameter monitoring but also provides various benefits for environmental management and monitoring processes.
One of the critical issues to be addressed is emission monitoring. The monitoring system can measure and record information about emitted gases, ensuring that emission levels do not exceed prescribed limits. The use of monitoring management software helps automate data collection, enhancing accuracy and transparency while reducing the risk of errors due to human influence.
The plant has implemented the use of Emission Monitoring Software

The installation of an automated, continuous emission monitoring system, coupled with iLotusLand software, facilitates the monitoring of the plant's emission data in accordance with legal regulations. This system not only automatically and continuously monitors air quality and emissions but also records i
Furthermore, the plant has established a direct connection to transmit data to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Quảng Ninh Province. This not only demonstrates the firm commitment of the plant to environmental management but also ensures compliance with legal requirements. The accurate and timely transmission of information enables regulatory authorities to have real-time insights into the environmental conditions and emissions from the plant.
The application of IoT technology in environmental monitoring not only helps the Cẩm Phả Thermal Power Plant enhance its monitoring and control capabilities but also signifies their commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development. This represents a significant step forward in reshaping the image of the energy industry, aiming towards a future where production and environmental protection can coexist.
